Tinnitus
Tinnitus is when you experience ringing, humming, roaring, or other sounds in one or both of your ears. These noises and sounds are not caused by an external sound, and other people are unable to hear the sounds that you are hearing. Tinnitus is thought to affect 20% of the population and is considered to be a common medical condition. While tinnitus is common, surprisingly there is no specific treatment. There are techniques and coping tools that some patients have tried such as TMS, noise-canceling headphones, cognitive behavioral therapy, and background music or sound machines.
