Reading with VS (visual snow) |

Reading with VS is extremely hard to do. Words seem to wave and jump off the page. They almost seem to glow off of the white background. I don't read for pleasure anymore. I read my children their story at night, and am grateful for the illustrations on the pages, which break up the jumble of words. Reading glasses do not help, nor are needed.
I find it impossible to read outside. The glare from the sun makes it too hard to see the words. My floaters also swirl around the page, and block words here and there as they move around my eye. Sometimes dim light helps. Flourescent bulbs are the worst. Commputers vary based on the background, and how bright the screen is set. I use to enjoy reading novels, and it has been years since I have picked one up. I hope that one day I will be able to read again without the letter show that goes on before my eyes. |
